Principal's Message

Hello Warm Springs Community,

Welcome to the 2021 - 2022 school year!  I hope everyone was able to enjoy a wonderful and safe summer, though we are living in very unique times.  We made the most of it and I was able to spend a ton of quality time with my wife Emily and our three boys who are all under the age of twelve.  It was great to be able to finally leave the house as there are only so many family activities we can do in our house without them breaking something.

I am very excited to return to the Warm Springs community, for my tenth year, as Principal.  As always, I am here to be of service to you.  Under normal circumstances, I have an open-door policy, but since we are not out of COVID and to cut down on exposure, we will only be doing online appointments through Zoom. However, you can always call or email me and I will return your call as soon as I can. I am here to support you and your child in maximizing learning, growth and having a positive experience this year.  I am also responsible for running the District Virtual Academy for grades 3-5. So far we have 20 Virtual classes that I will also be managing.

We have an excellent teaching staff. I speak from direct experience when I say that each and every one of our educators is highly trained, collaborative and have children’s overall growth and development in mind. They are truly concerned with the whole student and are committed to every student’s true potential and growth. Our staff has spent a great deal of time planning this year's return to in person instruction, however, please make sure to partner with your child's teacher as we are all experiencing something that has never been done in the history of education. Please be flexible and expect adjustments as each teacher figures out what works best with their classroom learning environment. I believe we will be successful as long as we stay positive, work together and continue to have authentic and open communication. Our theme this year is: LOVE. Our staff will be focusing on loving all students and they have received training on best practices for building strong and trustworthy relationships with all students. We realize that students have not been in school for a long time and this year will be different than any other year. Rest assured that we will nurture their return and we will take more time to build strong relationships in the classroom, over jumping into curriculum. You may not agree with this slower pace, however, we need to make sure we establish a safe environment so students can take risks and learn as much as they can this year. I look forward to an exciting year of new challenges and new learning opportunities for our entire community.
