Dear Room.35 Parents/Guardians,

Happy Friday!

Thank you to all the parents who attended Back to School Night this week! It was so lovely to see parents in person at our Zoom meeting! An email was sent on Wednesday with my PowerPoint for your review and the link for the Student Information form for you to complete. If you have not completed this form, please complete as soon as possible to help better support your child. 

Ms. Cheung, has also asked parents to complete the DocuSign Consent Form that she sent out by email last week. 

Room Parent position: Thank you to all parents who emailed with interest in this role. More details to come!

Dear Room.35 Parents/Guardians,

Happy Friday!

We hope that you are well and safe and have had a good week. Room.35 have had a great week and students have been amazingly joining in the morning on time!  Throughout the day, students have been facing internet issues, also when joining after lunch. We ask parents and students to be be patient and try rejoining and to notifying me as soon as they can back into our Zoom class.

Back to School Night: Please join this Tuesday between 5 p.m and 6 p.m. Please join from one device per student. We will start promptly at 5 p.m and end promptly at  p.m for the PTA meeting. We have early release at 1.40 pm on this day.

Schedule: Please note that our Class Schedule is subject to change, and we ask students to not print this document as changes are made on this live document. Changes were made this week that were shown to the class.  Adjustments will be necessary at times to ensure that our schedule works.  Please to encourage your child to check our schedule (can be found in our Google Classroom under 'Schedule') regularly and independently, so that they are in charge of their learning.

Office Hours : Office Hours are optional for students. Parents need to make an appointment by email 24 hours in advance to join. We ask that students attend these office hours if they have any questions or concerns. We ask parents to encourage students to advocate for themselves first rather than go straight to their parents. Our goal is to make our students independent, confident speakers, and brave, problem-solvers!

Dear Room.35 Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to my the 'Classroom News' section of my website!  We have had a great full week OF DISTANCE LEARNING! Since this is the FIRST time that we we have been teaching and learning in this manner, Room.35 have done REMARKABLY WELL!!  This is due to all the amazing support that you have all provided with your child during internet and technically difficulties that we have faced this week, from accessing our schedule to logging into our Zoom Class. Thank you so much for being so patience and help us navigate through this new process of distance learning. This is a learning process for us ALL! So all of your support is greatly appreciated. Room.35 Parents you ROCK!

Students have been joining my Zoom Class each morning well before 8.10 am! They are amazing!! Each morning we have been visiting our schedule, so students are aware of when to log into my classes and their prep classes for Mr. Mann, Mr. Morgan and Mr. Townsend (Mr.Hickey has been covering). We have also gone over where the links for each other teachers can be found (at the end of the schedule, once you scroll down). We will continue to do this, but we ask you please to encourage your child to check our schedule (can be found in our Google Classroom under 'Schedule') regularly and independently, so that they are in charge of their learning.

Text books: Thank you to all Parents who picked up the bag of supplies last week! We understand that most students are eager to complete classwork and move ahead. Usually we do not send textbooks home, but due to COVID we have had to. Therefore, we ask that you encourage your child to complete work in sync with our class, so that we have their full attention on the topic taught.

ELA Texts for Close Reading (TCRs) and SOCIAL STUDIES books are still yet to be delivered to our school. As soon as they arrive, all parents will be contacted about the next Pick Up date.

Parent Teacher Association (PTA): Join our Warm Springs PTA! Parental support is so important for our school!! Some of the benefits of having an active PTA are listed below! Oh, and, by the way, the class with the most PTA memberships by September 25 will win a $50 gift card for their teacher!! Let's hope Room.35 wins it!!

 In order to make sure that all classes are supported and the information flows properly between the class and the PTA, we need a parent volunteer from Room.35.  If you are interested in becoming our Class Liaison for the PTA please email me at ntaha@fusdk12.net. This role will include attending the PTA meetings and properly representing the needs of you and our class in the PTA. 

This year there will be monthly PTA Zoom School Socials (PTAZSS)! With everyone so isolated from each other, the PTA will be hosting monthly PTAZSS (pronounced “Pizzazz!”) sessions to create and encourage a strong sense of community! They will be held on the last Tuesday of every month – the first one is being held on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, and it will star our awesome principal Mr. Scott Iwata! More details on the session will be shared as we get closer to the date. All of you will be approached in the coming months to get involved in future sessions to show off your talents and skills. So be ready!

Please direct your child to login into our Zoom class (Zoom details on Letter sent) before 8.10 am. The Zoom Class will be open from 8 am. Looking forward to our first day!!

Pick up of Materials 2pm - 4pm (Remaining) - All bags have been picked up! Thank you to all parents who came and picked up student's materials needed for distance learning.
